You don't get as mad at softlocks, wacky hitboxes, or other antics in a bad game you hate, after all. Part of why the rough edges get so frustrating, is because of how great the rest of the game is. "real oldschool veterans" will rush in to declare they think money is too easy and should be nerfed. Or seeing a game's patch breaks missions to no longer pay you, and new players are baffled why the can't make money. And then praise devs for disabling cheevos if you use console commands to get past a cutscene softlocking a single autosave game "to punish cheaters". Though I say this with a long history of watching people nerf food that makes you puke blood "because it grows on trees! overpowered!" in games that start you off with recharging replicators that turn animals into food and water. Hopefully the devs do not do something like patch out restart to checkpoints giving you shield refresh, before they fix the actual rough edges. "No, just got tired of having to restart to checkpoint while a partially alive ghost or otherwise softlocked with basically no health as added insult to injury." "Why are you using shield start item and shield strength potion now? You just can't handle hard games I bet!" Which is before getting to softlocks and such. But it feels like every awkward "If you stub your toe, somebody try to call it hardcore" element was doubled down on too. I would still suggest this game to sonic fans, and there are lots of areas of improvement. *eyes instant kill dying on final secret stage puzzle right after solving the puzzle, through the door, but before it counted as the checkpoint before the boss* To say nothing of the increase in puzzles or marathons before bosses. Clearly I can slap him in the back of the head right?" and just admitted they are a little baby I should treat with zero respect. For example, Askal die faster when I stopped trying to punish "He is just standing there, attacking the opposite direction of me. Top reason I used dragon boost with Lilac in FP2 was not "Wow new burst so strong!", it was "So I can hit the boss through their spam while they are open for a moment before they run away again", and constantly reminding myself "Learn the pattern and punish openings!" (As well as the dodge button) is for suckers. Remember how 'even a baby can no hit them' easy dail was in FP1? Remember how with Carol that took longer than Lilac just because Carol couldn't slap him in the face on demand by comparison? Now Imagine somebody trying to declare 'You just can't handle oldschool bosses'! over the clam boss sitting under the water line wasting your time. so just playing the 'I beat the game so git gud' card is just missing the point, really. While overall the game is good, even when you have an easier time with a boss that does not make a lot of them any less "Chase after a flailing hitbox or wait out it's sofa fort saftey time". Maybe because I can actually see where I'm going due to the camera zoom feature. I've actually found it to be easier somewhat.
